The owner of this Ifor Williams BV105 Box Trailer has two GoldWing Trailers and shrinking space to store them so, despite only buying this one a few months ago and towing it for less that 1500 miles, it has to go.
Its a 2006 trailer built to the latest specification, fitted out to take a GoldWing and in excellent condition.
If you have read my Article on Towing GoldWings, you will know that this is my chosen way to do it.
These trailers are plenty big enough to take a Wing but light enough (with Wing on board) to be towed by a motorhome or a large car. The trailer itself weighs about 900 kg and a Wing weighs no more than 450kg, so you will be comfortably inside a typical motorhome’s towing capacity of 1500kg. The trailer can of course carry far more weight than this if the towing vehicle can cope, so with a bigger motorhome you can carry lots of booze back from the Continent as well as your Wing!
A new trailer to this specification would cost nearly £4,000 including VAT, so at £2,500, fitted out ready to take a GoldWing, this one is very good value. The owner paid £2,800 for it a few months ago and then spent more money fitting it out. For example the rear steadies are extras.
The trailer is located in Lancashire and the Owner is Geoff Thornton. He can be contacted on 07774 141192.
